Why choose us

Why you should choose a Keswick Superglaze composite door.

Engineered for security and built for the long Cumbrian weather. Six reasons our Rockdoor composite doors hold up where others fail.

  • Core Benefits

Rockdoors inner strength is unsurpassed thanks to a combination of a 360° aluminium reinforced inner frame and high-density thermally efficient PU foam. Customers can also choose steel mesh reinforcing for the ultimate in security.

  • £2,000 Guarantee

Rockdoors lock cylinders are burglar proof. A TS007 3 star rating, SS 312 Sold Secure Diamond Standard and Secured by Design accreditation see to that, plus our £2,000 security guarantee.

  • Forced Entry

Rockdoors are designed for strength, it is in our DNA. For over 25 years, we have led the way in composite door development to ensure our doors protect homes and families from unwanted intruders and forced entry.

  • Hook up with Rockdoor

Strong sintered steel multi-point hook locks with a 25 mm throw, securely attach the door to the frame to ensure it cannot be forcibly opened by burglars whilst ensuring a better sound and weatherproof seal.

  • Glass Leading Security

Rockdoors feature S-Glaze technology, meaning your glass is locked into your door for life, for added security. It also means no glazing cassettes are used which are prone to fading and discolouration.

  • Stronger, it's official.

Rockdoor is consistently found to be one of the most secure doors available in the UK. Studies show that a Rockdoor is 35% stronger than a typical GRP door.

Frequently Asked

FAQ's.

Explore our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more about composite doors. If you have a question that's not listed, feel free to get in touch, and we'll be happy to provide the answers you're looking for.

What are composite doors?

Our composite doors are designed to address the common issues associated with timber doors, such as swelling and warping. A standard composite door is typically constructed using a combination of materials, including uPVC, foam, wood, and GRP (glass reinforced plastic).

However, our Rockdoors are unique as they are constructed using PVC for the door sash, inner frame, and outer frame, along with a solid insulating core. This integrated design ensures that the materials function as one unit, providing optimal performance, exceptional security, durability, and energy efficiency.

How safe is a composite door?

Our composite doors are exceptionally secure due to their robust construction, multiple layers, and advanced locking systems. Additionally, our Rockdoors feature a 4-hook lock system* and are reinforced with mesh for added protection.

*Please note this is not applicable for all designs.

What are composite doors made of?

Composite doors are typically crafted from a mix of materials like wood, uPVC, and glass reinforced with foam or other insulating cores. However, our Rockdoors are purposefully not produced with timber, they are instead made from high quality PVC for the door sash, inner frame, and outer frame, in addition to a solid insulating core. The high-density core is 60% stronger than standard composite doors on the market.

Our Rockdoors are also available to upgrade with a unique Steel Security Mesh reinforcing. The mesh is enclosed in-between the door surfaces to ensure your door cannot be cut through by a burglar — an increasingly common form of entry!

How much is a composite door?

The cost of a composite door varies depending on the design, size, and any additional features you choose, but they typically start from £1,000 or less. It's important to be cautious of cheaper alternatives, as many composite doors may not be suitable to withstand the challenging Cumbrian weather. We take pride in being Cumbria's exclusive Rockdoor supplier, and our doors are equipped with a harsh weather pack to ensure their durability.

What is the difference between uPVC and composite doors?

While uPVC doors are the more budget-friendly option, composite doors offer enhanced security, and insulation, and are available in a variety of colour and style options, making them the more aesthetically pleasing option.

How long do composite doors last?

Providing you've invested in a quality composite door and had it professionally installed by a reputable firm, you can expect these doors to be highly durable, with an average lifespan of 30–40 years. This means you can enjoy the peace of mind that your door won't require replacement for a considerable period.

Do composite doors require much maintenance?

No, composite doors are very low maintenance. They won't warp, crack, or fade like traditional timber doors and only require occasional cleaning with soapy water to keep them looking their best.

Are composite doors worth the money?

Yes, composite doors are a worthwhile investment due to their durability, security, and energy efficiency. Unlike traditional timber or uPVC doors, they are built from multiple materials, making them stronger, more weather-resistant, and longer-lasting. While the upfront cost may be higher, their low maintenance and long lifespan make them more cost-effective over time.
